This sunday we've ep 2 of Rudy's Rare Records, Get Up, Stand Up

Last week met goth shop assistant Tricia, lost love Alison and Clifton, king of pick up line and Rudy’s drinking buddy. we got to hear (and so did Adam) that Rudy didn’t actually have a heart attack and is fit enough to drink and chat up the girls down the pub. This week Adam demonstrates his inability to compliment women, the community centre get hold of rudy to talk about what life was like in the area, and Ritchie sets himself up as a record producer. All this plus some great music. so sweep back the dreadlocks and listen in

Inspired by the Jabsco sessions

Rudy's Rare Records.

From July 11 to Aug 1 the Sunday Night Comedy Show is running four episodes of Rudy’s Rare Records. A reggae influenced comedy show set in Birmingham, based on a stormy relationship between a father and son. Son Adam, who fled the family home in birmingham for a better life, nowlives in london and owns a well organized upmarket record shop (Bach To Basics) which specialises in classical records. Rudy, Adams father, owns a shambolic, real roots reggae shop in Birmingham where where Rudy’s “If it's not on the shelves, it's on the floor”, approach to storing/cataloguing his stock is polar opposite to Adams perfectly catalogued shelves.

When circumstances bring Adam home to look after his dad and the shop, comedic conflict is ready to unfold.

Clever writing from Dan Tetsell and Danny Robins, combined with some great vintage reggae and ska music that would not be out of place on The Jabsco Sessions (first sat of every month here on Waiheke Radio) makes this one of the better comedy shows around.

July 4th Episode 1. Roots Maneuvers

Adam gets the call to come 'home,' and has to take himself and his teenage son Ritchie ‘oop north’ when his dad has a heart attack.
