Learn to make Radio Programmes

Posted 05/07/2010 - 12:46 by Chris

Waiheke Radio is looking for new contributors and rather than throw people in at the deep end we are running a training course to get people started. We're running a six week course running on Wednesday evenings, starting on the 28th July. Topics covered will include technical and production aspects of making radio programmes such as on-air announcing, interviewing, recording and editing, and programme design.

We're limiting the number of participants but expressions of interest are sought from any Waiheke individuals or groups whether you're  interested in making a music show, a public service programme, something about the arts, a news and issues programme or any other programme ideas you have.

Because Waiheke Radio is a community radio station one of our major objectives is to support and train islanders to get involved in producing radio programmes.

The course costs $60 which also gives participants six months membership of the station.

To find out more, or to register interest in taking part in the course, contact Chris Walker at admin@waihekeradio.org.nz or 027 275 4655.
