Sonata for Miriam in Scotland!

Thank you so much Waiheke Radio for serialising Sonata for Miriam.   What a wonderful idea to have Waihekians reading it.  Somehow it made it belong to its place.

I loved Linda Olsson's first book (though I think the NZ title is much better than the plain Astrid and Veronika of the UK version.)   She has a wonderful talent for unfolding relationships in a very sensitive and beautiful way, and the haunting music that accompanied the readings fitted so well.  (It was through Alex, the composer that I discovered your serialisation).   For me these books connect different bits of my own life.  In the late 60's I lived in Auckland, then after returning to the UK we established a connection with Sweden where we now spend quite a bit of time.   I had difficulty finding an English version of Sonata so had bought a Swedish one, but gave up.   Now, here in Scotland, I can listen to your New Zealand readings while following the Swedish text to help improve my Swedish!
