One of the most inventive and eclectic figures to have emerged from the '90s alternative music scene, Beck was "the epitome of postmodern chic in an era obsessed with junk culture." (Steve Huey, Allmusic.com). As a musical artist Beck draws from a vast range of influences from pop, to folk, psychedelia, hip-hop, country, blues, R&B, funk, indie rock, noise rock, experimental rock, jazz, and the Mexican sounds of his Los Angeles hometown. Becks often free-lyrical associations are influenced by the Fluxus poetry and collage artworks of his grandfather Al Hansen. His recently confessed association with the quasi-religious cult Scientology sort of just fit in quite well with his oevre in retrospect.

Tune into the new Saturday Special at 8:30pm this Saturday and let Countrymike take you through a tour of old Beck, new Beck, obscure Beck and a few of the people who helped make Beck ... Beck.
