Harry Nicklin

We were sad to hear of the passing of Harry Nicklin, accomplished Waiheke musician and a great friend of Waiheke Radio. While music was his passion Harry was also a signwriter and he painted the large wooden sign of our logo when Waiheke Radio first launched. Harry played music with many on the island, most notably The Benevolent Evelyns and Rattleshack. In 2007 Rattleshack played a live set on The Beach, the radio station which preceded Waiheke Radio. That set can be heard on the internet archive. That set will also be played on Waiheke Radio at 4pm on Saturday afternoon in memory of Harry.

Thank you to Harry's whanau for allowing us (Waiheke) to grieve with you over the loss of our friend.
The huge turnout at the funeral is testimony to how much Harry meant to all of us.
He will be sadly missed but his light shines on through his music and how he touched our hearts with his words and deeds.
Gone but not forgotten.
We will miss him dearly.
