My Waiheke Wedding Island Life Interview
Thanks guys! Was great to come in and be a part of a local gem such as our local radio station. The mywaihekewedding.co.nz directory is going from strength to strength with some new and exciting suppliers and a bumper Summer about to start.
Will be of course tuning into my favorite radio station along the way!

Basil Holmes
I hope Basil's send off went well.
Part of my heart will always remain with Waiheke and the wonderful characters such as Basil that have helped shape it into such a special place.
I was always interested in Basil's views, even if I didn't agree with everything! I'm sure Basil will live on in the fond memmories of many others and well as with myself.

Albums That Changed ... Nic Jones' - Penguin Eggs
Penguin Eggs Seminal album because of one good song ( IMO ) Canadee-I-O I wore out the grooves on that track, can see daylight through. On a par with Knoppler's Sultans of Swing and Paul Brady's "Arthur" and Martin Carthy's "Geordie". Just so we are clear. PjH

Albums That Changed ... Nic Jones' - Penguin Eggs
Listening in to Folk on Waiheke Radio [http://waihekeradio.org.nz/listen] right now - in London (UK). Its aired on Friday am for us in the UK. Great programme, great way to wake up!! The stream does keep cutting out sometimes, more due to my local ISP (Virgin) than the distance involved.
The highlight this morning was Trevor Sommers' review of Nic Jones' definitive "Penguin Eggs."
Great to hear Paul Metser's "Shotover River" again.
Yet I understand that one Dave Bulmer (Celtic Music) is reported as STILL sitting on Nic Jones' master tapes, refusing to re-issue them to benefit Nic's long term rehabilitation. Indeed the master tapes might be well decomposed beyond restoration by now. APPARENTLY ALONG WITH MANY THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF OTHER BRIT. FOLK SINGERS AND BANDS FROM THE 1970S/80S.
I am also of the understanding that any performing rights of Nic's records or songs from plays on radio etc. goes to Bulmer, rather than Nic. Appalling situation.

Good for Trevor in reviewing this album.

I am fast becoming a fan of this programme but don't seem to be able to catch it live. I am only able to see a few shows I can download. Can more be added please or as they happen from now?
Thanks so much.

Hello Martini,
Keith here from Eco Base Camp- Historic 66 America. We have some ideas brewing for some podcasts. Your show look's on to it. We are wanting to broadcast some "sustainable waves" to the Island. What do you think?
Cheers
Keith
